Captain  

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for order taking and suggesting complementing food items to enhance the customer’s dining experience.
  • Supervise a section of service staff and assist servers in service whenever required.
  • Responsible for providing feedback on the presentation of food & beverage served to customer.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the assigned section of the restaurant including the service stations within the area.
  • Responsible for ensuring all table settings, table alignments, chairs, music, air con and overall ambient of the section is set to the specified standard.
  • Ensure all opening & closing duties are done by the service staff before the peak period starts.
  • Ensure that customers are correctly billed and all procedures on bill presentation and receiving of payment from the customers are done according to the established procedures.
  • Prepare and review all related administrative task necessary for training and evaluating of staff members.
  • Keep the Manager informed of any food delay, complaints or customer feedback.
  • Conduct on-the-job training to ensure subordinates are able to perform their duties effectively.
  • Attend weekly section meeting.
  • Ensure that the uniform of all subordinates in the section is well kept and personal hygiene is maintained at all times.
  • Responsible for ensuring all tables within the section are properly set once the guest leaves.
  • Follow strictly the service sequence of the restaurant.
  • Have good product knowledge and be well versed with all the food and beverage items served at the restaurant.
  • Able to professionally greet and thank all guests who patronize the restaurant.
  • Proficient in handling all operational equipment and preventing any mishandling or breakages.
  • Responsible for ensuring all weekly cleaning duties in the section are carried out by the assigned staff.
  • Be knowledgeable of basic fire safety and security procedures in the restaurant.

REQUIREMENTS :
  • Possess at least a SPM holder.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in the same capacity.
  • Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Knowledge in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
